From today, the import of rare motor vehicles has been exempted from VAT, excise tax, and customs duty.
Modern.az reports that the amendments made to the Tax Code on February 13 regarding this matter came into force on March 25.
Thus, according to the currently effective rules, motor vehicles whose engine, p, and chassis are in original condition or have been restored to original condition, and more than 40 years have passed since their factory release date, are considered rare (rarity) motor vehicles.
According to the law, the exemption of rare motor vehicles from VAT, excise tax, and customs duty will be regulated within the following conditions:
the import being carried out on the basis of a confirming document from the relevant state p;
the number of rare motor vehicles imported by a person not exceeding 1 unit per calendar year (a total of 10 units nationwide).
It should be noted that the exemption of rare motor vehicles from VAT, excise tax, and customs duty will enable a reduction in the costs for their importers.
