In the first two months of this year, Azerbaijan increased its apple sales abroad.
Modern.az reports, citing the State Customs Committee, that in January-February, 22,638.44 tons of apples worth 17 million 620.45 thousand US dollars were exported from the country.
These indicators are 4 million 49.48 thousand US dollars or 30 percent higher in value, and 1,964.77 tons or 9.5 percent higher in volume compared to the same period last year.
According to the information, the revenue obtained from apple exports during the reporting period constituted 0.5 percent of Azerbaijan's total exports.
It should be noted that in January-February of the current year, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to 6 billion 264 million US dollars. Of this, 3 billion 665 million dollars accounted for exports, and 2 billion 599 million dollars for imports.
In the last year, exports decreased by 23.1 percent, and imports by 37.2 percent.
