In the first two months of this year, the volume and value of fertilizer imported into Azerbaijan increased.
Modern.az reports, citing the State Customs Committee, that 29,043 tons of fertilizer were brought into the country in January-February. A total of 19 million 600 thousand US dollars was spent on these products.
Compared to the same period last year, the import volume increased by 5,505 tons or 23.4 percent. In terms of value, the increase was even higher, 8 million 671 thousand dollars or 79.3 percent.
Specifically, in January-February 2025, 23,538 tons of fertilizer were imported into Azerbaijan, for which 10 million 929 thousand dollars had been paid.
During the reporting period, the average price of 1 kilogram of imported fertilizer was 0.67 dollars (approximately 1 manat 14 qəpik). This represents an increase of 0.21 dollars (approximately 35 qəpik) or 45.6 percent compared to the previous year.
