During January-March of this year, the amount of VAT refunded to consumers by authorized banks for goods purchased from persons engaged in retail trade and public catering activities in the country's territory (excluding oil and gas products, automobiles, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products), in the field of theater performances, film screenings, museum visits, and symphony orchestra concerts, as well as for services provided by medical institutions and individuals engaged in private medical practice, and for accommodation and stay services by hotels (considered accommodation facilities) within the liberated territories, amounted to 51 million 747.2 thousand manats.
Regarding this, information was provided to Modern.az by the State Tax Service.
In January-March 2026, the amount of VAT ("tax free") refunded from the state budget for goods purchased for personal consumption by foreign citizens in the territory of the republic amounted to 2,063.8 thousand manats.
