Baku Metro will start the construction of four new stations by the end of this year.
Modern.az reports that Mammad Rzayev, Head of the Construction Project Management Department of "Baku Metro" Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC), stated this in his remarks to journalists.
He stated that within the framework of projects implemented for the development of transport infrastructure in Baku, significant steps are being taken by Baku Metro for the expansion of the "green line":
"Within the framework of the project, financial resources amounting to approximately 700 million US dollars have been allocated by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
According to the information, the construction of four new metro stations along the "green line" is planned with the allocated funds. The new stations will be located as an extension of the existing line in the northern and north-western directions of the capital, including areas beyond the "Darnagul" station and towards Khojasan. This will facilitate the integration of the rapidly developing residential areas of the capital into the metro network, as well as contribute to reducing traffic congestion. Tender processes for the project are planned to be carried out by the end of the current year, and the results will be presented to the public. Within the framework of the project, the construction of four new stations along the "green line" is expected to commence at the end of this year." (Oxu.az)
