For 17 years now, April 10 has been celebrated as Builders' Day in Azerbaijan.
Modern.az reports that, by the Decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev dated December 16, 2009, builders celebrate April 10 every year as their professional holiday.
The rich history of construction and architecture in Azerbaijan, the widespread development of construction works that began in the late 19th - early 20th centuries, and residential buildings constructed during that period and still preserved today as architectural monuments, have transformed the capital Baku, which currently combines rare examples of Eastern and Western architecture and is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, into a clear example of difficult and honorable labor.
Today, builders proudly celebrate their professional holiday in every corner of a free, fully sovereign, and integral Azerbaijan. Following the Victory achieved by Azerbaijan's glorious Army in the fight against the enemy, under the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev, Karabakh and East Zangazur have now been completely transformed into a vast construction, landscaping, and rebuilding site.
