The works of the great writer of the Turkic world, Chingiz Aitmatov, have been published in the common Turkic alphabet.
According to Modern.az, the book was produced based on Turkish and Kyrgyz Turkic, using the new common alphabet.
The author of the book's foreword is Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. The Minister emphasizes in his writing that Chingiz Aitmatov is not only a writer but also the unifying voice of the Turkic world:
“The pains, hopes, joys, and resistances expressed in Aitmatov's works are common to all Turkic peoples. The story of humanity that emerges from his pen, in fact, also carries the longing of brothers separated from each other.”
Mehmet Nuri Ersoy notes in the foreword that the preparation of this work is not merely a technical initiative, but “a sign of the embrace of hearts and languages.” According to the Minister, the voice of the Turkic peoples' desire to reunite after centuries is reflected in this book:
“This work is a small but meaningful step towards the common future of the Turkic world. It has been brought to fruition thanks to the dedicated efforts of those who believe in the ideal of a common alphabet and common culture.”
The aforementioned book was presented today to the leaders of Turkic states during the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Gabala.
It should be noted that the Turkic World Common Alphabet Commission, established by the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), reached an agreement last year in Baku regarding the proposal for a Common Turkic Alphabet consisting of 34 letters. The initiative regarding the alphabet was first put forward by scientists in 1991.
