For the first time in Azerbaijan, a large-scale cultural tour program covering Baku and the regions will be implemented.

The Ministry of Culture informed Modern.az about this.

Starting this month, a large-scale cultural tour program covering the city of Baku and the regions, with the participation of the country's leading artistic collectives, will be implemented under the initiative and organization of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The project is being realized as the first systematic cultural tour initiative that unites the capital and the regions within a single program and covers a wide geography across the country. It should be noted that the first events of the project began at the end of 2025.

The main goal of the initiative is to form a unified cultural space across the country, further revitalize cultural life in the regions, and increase the accessibility of high-level art samples for all citizens. The project also serves to strengthen cultural ties between the capital and the regions, promote national art more widely in the regions, and actively involve young people in cultural life.

Within the framework of the tour program, a total of approximately 30 concerts and artistic programs are planned to be presented in various cities and regions of Azerbaijan. The project is expected to involve approximately 1200 artists and creative staff members, which indicates that the initiative covers a wide audience and a large geography in the country's cultural life.

Within the framework of the program, artistic collectives operating under the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev, the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Heydar Aliyev Palace, International Mugham Center, Azerbaijan State Song Theatre named after Rashid Behbudov, and Ganja State Philharmonic named after Fikrat Amirov will perform concert programs in various regions of the country.

Selected examples of symphonic and chamber music, mugham, folk instrumental music, choral and dance art will be presented to the audience. This program holds special importance in terms of preserving the classical music heritage, promoting national music traditions, and bringing contemporary performance culture to a wide audience.

The tour visits are planned to cover Baku, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Aghdam, Lachin, Ganja, Mingachevir, Lankaran, Sumgayit, Guba, Khachmaz, Shaki, Gabala, Zagatala, Balakan, Sabirabad, Shamakhi, and other cities and regions.

The project will also contribute to expanding cooperation with cultural institutions and creative collectives operating in the regions, developing mutual experience exchange, and forming new creative platforms. At the same time, the program will enable the efficient organization of audiences' leisure time, increase the cultural attractiveness of the regions, and provide additional impetus for the development of cultural tourism within the country.

It should be noted that this initiative is being implemented in accordance with one of the priority directions defined within the framework of the "Azerbaijani Culture – 2040" Concept – increasing the accessibility of culture in the regions and forming a unified cultural ecosystem across the country.
