Azerbaijan outpaced 120 countries - REPORT

While economic development and growth strengthen countries' global standing, their heritage remains one of the main distinguishing factors. A country's cultural heritage reflects the traces of its rich history and the challenging stages it has undergone, which is also one of the main factors attracting tourists from various parts of the world. 

Modern.az reports that the 2025 cultural influence report by “CEOWORLD” magazine, which conducted research in this direction, has been published. 

This ranking highlights countries that continue to influence art, history, and traditions by bringing rich cultural heritage to the forefront worldwide.

In the ranking announced by “CEOWORLD” magazine for 2025, the cultural and historical heritage influence of 197 countries worldwide has been determined. The list is topped by Italy, known for its rich historical and artistic traditions. Greece and Egypt complete the top three.

According to the ranking, China holds the fourth position, moving ahead of India. France maintains its position in sixth place, while Iraq ranks seventh. The top ten is completed by Israel in eighth, Iran in ninth, and Turkey in tenth place.

Azerbaijan is ranked 77th on this list. This result indicates how the country's rich history, cultural heritage, and multicultural values are recognized internationally. Overall, our country was evaluated with 74.12 points out of 100. It should be noted that this score is 97.98 for Italy, which holds the first place on the list.

Regional Countries

The position of South Caucasus and Central Asian countries, in particular, draws attention on the list. While Azerbaijan is ranked 77th, Georgia is 89th, and Armenia is 33rd. 

The position of Turkic states in the ranking also generates particular interest. Turkey entered the top ten, ranking 10th, and stood out with its rich Ottoman and Anatolian heritage.
Among Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan ranked 61st, Kazakhstan 67th, and Turkmenistan 78th. Kyrgyzstan, however, was not included in the list.


Position of CIS Countries

The list also includes several countries from the former Soviet space. Among CIS countries, Russia showed the highest result. This country is ranked 19th. The ranking of other countries is as follows:
Armenia – 33rd place 
Ukraine – 54th place 
Kazakhstan – 67th place 
Azerbaijan – 77th place 
Turkmenistan – 78th place 
Tajikistan – 83rd place 
Belarus – 87th place 

Countries in War and Conflict Conditions

The ranking also includes the positions of countries currently experiencing conflict or military tension at various levels.
Among these countries, Israel, which is in the highest position, is 8th. Other countries are ranked as follows:

Israel – 8th place 
Iran – 9th place 
Russia – 19th place 
Ukraine – 54th place 
Syria – 32nd place 
Yemen – 79th place 
Libya – 72nd place 

The Last 10 on the List

The countries ranked in the final positions of the ranking cover the regions of Africa, Asia, and Europe. The last 10 are formed as follows:

Mali – 70.44 points 
Montenegro – 70.35 points 
Albania – 70.26 points 
Nepal – 70.07 points 
Costa Rica – 69.66 points 
Bahrain – 68.74 points
Cyprus – 68.47 points 
Laos – 67.97 points 
Latvia – 67.83 points 
Malta – 67.73 points 

It should be noted that even Malta, which is in the last position on the list, achieved a result above 67 points, indicating that the differences between countries in terms of global cultural heritage are not very significant.
