Russian President Vladimir Putin will open the building of the Azerbaijan State Musical Drama Theater in Derbent via videoconference.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Kremlin official representative Dmitry Peskov.
According to him, the deeply rooted theater tradition is well-known not only to all Russians, but also throughout the world.
The Kremlin spokesman said that today the Russian President will participate via videoconference in the opening of the reconstructed building of the Azerbaijan State Musical Drama Theater in Derbent.
Peskov stated that the roots of this historical theater go back to the 19th century: "Representatives of the Azerbaijani intelligentsia once established a Turkish club in Derbent, which later transformed into the Azerbaijani theater. By the way, guests from Azerbaijan will be in Derbent today to celebrate the opening of this important cultural venue."
