"Rasim Balayev was a great-hearted, very wonderful person who left his mark on Azerbaijani art."
Modern.az reports that People's Artist Valeh Kərimov said this at the funeral ceremony for the late Rasim Balayev.
“As long as the Azerbaijani people exist, he will live on forever with our literature, art, and culture. Rasim Balayev is one of the artists who stands at that peak and will always be there.”
It is very regrettable that in this beautiful season of spring, at a time when birds are flying and chirping, we are mourning him. This is truly a great paradox.”
V. Kərimov added that his last meeting with him was last summer:
“But later we often spoke on the phone. We would call during holidays and check in on each other. We had also spoken at the beginning of this year. He said he would go to Turkey. After that phone call, I also called him, but he didn't answer. Later I learned that he was receiving treatment... May Allah have mercy on him.”
