After the death of Azerbaijan's prominent actor, People's Artist Rasim Balayev, the question arises as to who will be the new chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan, which he had led for 4 years.
In response to an inquiry from Modern.az regarding the matter, the Union stated that the Board of Directors' meeting on the issue will be held on May 8, after Rasim Balayev's 40th-day ceremony.
“The Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan is in mourning. We have suffered a heavy loss, and in accordance with our people's customs and traditions, no steps regarding organizational matters will be taken before the three-day and forty-day mourning ceremonies are observed,” the statement noted.
It was also stated that, according to the Charter, the executive p of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan is the Board of Directors of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan, and operational matters are handled by the secretariat.
“After the forty-day ceremony, organizational steps will be taken, and according to the charter, the chairman will be elected by a general meeting, conference, or congress,” it was emphasized at the end.
