People's Artist Avaz Abdullayev has made claims regarding the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Modern.az reports that the opera singer announced that he had been dismissed. He noted that he was removed from his job without any reason:
"I want to share the latest news from the theatre with you. After my last performance in Baku (March 12), our world-renowned tenor and director of the Opera Theatre (People's Artist Yusif Eyvazov - ed.) dismissed the leading dramatic baritone who honorably represents Azerbaijan, the only one, in many theatres around the world, without renewing my contract. And not just me. This is another lie from our director".
He also claimed that People's Artist Yalchin Adigozalov was also dismissed:
"I am answering everyone who is interested. There is no reason. I simply did not renew my annual contract. People's Artist Yalchin Adigozalov was also dismissed, and today our troupe manager Ms. Zulfiyya and Ms. Parvin were also dismissed on false charges. The director is lying again, claiming that he has not dismissed anyone since taking office. I am not even mentioning the threats against other soloists. That's all".
