According to information received from the "Icherisheher" State Historical-Architectural Reserve Department, today around 05:00 in the morning, at Kiçik Qala street, in the section where towers number 13-14 intersect, erosion was observed in a small section of the historical Castle walls.
Regarding this, Modern.az was informed by the "Icherisheher" State Historical-Architectural Reserve Department.
The information states that, according to the preliminary opinion of experts, the main reason for the erosion is humidity and natural erosion processes resulting from the incessant atmospheric precipitation observed in recent days.
"From the moment the incident occurred, immediate operational measures were taken by the Department, the mentioned area was brought under full control, and necessary preventive steps were taken for the safety of citizens. Currently, the implementation of necessary works has begun to eliminate the situation that has arisen in that part of the historical monument.
The protection of our historical heritage and the safety of citizens are priority issues in the Department's activities and the process is constantly kept in focus," - the information stated.
