Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan commented on the results of the presidential elections in Northern Cyprus.

Erdoğan congratulated Tufan Erhürman, who was elected president today according to the unofficial results of the elections held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
"I hope that this election, which once again demonstrated the democratic maturity of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and reflected the will of our Turkish Cypriot brothers in the ballot box, will be beneficial for our countries and our region.
As Turkey, we will continue to defend the sovereign rights and interests of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus together with our Turkish Cypriot brothers on every platform", he stated.
