Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton stated that President Donald Trump's administration is preparing for a possible military operation against Venezuela.

According to Bolton, the US is considering the possibility of an operation against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by redirecting the "USS Gerald R. Ford" – the world's largest aircraft carrier – and its accompanying carrier strike group from Europe to the Caribbean.
“If it were only about combating illegal drug trafficking, that would be another matter. But it appears that the goal is the overthrow of the Maduro government. Otherwise, why would the "Gerald R. Ford" be sent to the Caribbean?” – Bolton emphasized.
