By order of the Armenian Minister of Defense, the Spiritual Service in the Armed Forces has been abolished.
Modern.az reports that the information was disclosed to Armenian media by priest Psak Mkrtchyan.
He reminded that the Spiritual Service in the Armed Forces had been operating for over 20 years.
“By order of the Minister of Defense, we clergy were relieved of our duties. May God strengthen our Church, our Homeland, and our Army”, the priest expressed his dissatisfaction.
The Spiritual Service of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia was established on November 13, 1997, through the joint initiative of Catholicos Garegin I and Minister of Defense Vazgen Sargsyan.
