Marriage agencies worldwide have emerged as a specialized service sector that organizes the establishment of male-female relationships on a professional basis.

Modern.az reports that such companies remove the individual dating process from random selection, implementing it through systematic, verified, and confidential mechanisms. Although marriage agencies operate on a commercial basis in international practice, their work is regulated by legal and ethical frameworks in many countries.

In the USA and European countries, agencies primarily prioritize individual compatibility analysis, psychological assessment, and verification of candidates' information. Initial interviews are conducted with clients, and a compatibility profile is prepared, taking into account social status, education, lifestyle, and family values. In this model, confidentiality is considered a fundamental principle, and the personal data of the parties is not disclosed to third parties.

In Asian countries, marriage agencies have a more institutional character. Due to the strong position of the family institution, procedures such as verification of official documents, and confirmation of income and family status information are widely applied. In some countries, this sector is regulated by state control and licensing mechanisms.

Digitalization has also affected the activities of marriage agencies. Although online platforms are widespread, traditional agencies are distinguished by their individual approach, security, and rigorous selection stages. Experts believe that the main criteria in this field are transparency, ethical conduct rules, and data protection.

In international practice, marriage agencies act not merely as dating services, but as structured and responsible intermediary institutions in the formation of social relationships.

Lawyer Ramil Suleymanli stated in his declaration to Modern.az that such organizations are considered legal because they pay taxes in the context of profit-service exchange:

"This is the case worldwide. Because there is no prohibitive norm regarding this in our legislation. The main issue here is to adhere to the principles of protecting citizens' personal data".

The lawyer added that if an activity is not prohibited in the Criminal Code or the Code of Administrative Offenses, it is possible to engage in it:

"The only required legal step is to obtain a license from the relevant organization".

Ramil Suleymanli did not consider the operation of such profiles on social networks to be illegal.

He attributed the reason for the absence of official marriage agencies in the country to the sphere of society's interest.
