President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President Adama Barrow of the Republic of The Gambia.
Modern.az reports that the letter states:
"Dear Mr. President,
On the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of The Gambia – Independence Day, I sincerely congratulate you and your people personally on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.
We attach great importance to the development of relations built on solid foundations between Azerbaijan and The Gambia. I would like to particularly note the effective cooperation between our countries within the framework of the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other international institutions and platforms.
I believe that we will continue our joint efforts to successfully strengthen our friendly ties and expand our cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally.
Taking advantage of this pleasant opportunity, I also convey my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the start of the holy month of Ramadan, and wish you robust health, happiness, success in your endeavors, and the friendly people of The Gambia everlasting peace and prosperity".
