A cassation appeal has been filed against the decision regarding Ulfan Aliyev, who is accused of knowingly providing false information to the police about burning down the Israeli embassy in Baku.
Modern.az reports that the appeal is currently being investigated under the chairmanship of Supreme Court judge Rashad Abdulov.
According to the indictment, Ulfan Aliyev, born in 1990, called the Ministry of Internal Affairs' "102" service in January 2025, stating that he would burn down the Israeli embassy and plant a bomb in a police station.
During the call, he stated that he would stand 20 meters in front of the embassy, "take a torch in his hand" and burn the ambassador.
A final indictment has been announced against Ulfan Aliyev under Article 216 of the Criminal Code (knowingly providing false information about terrorism).
By the verdict of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, Ulfan Aliyev was sentenced to five years of imprisonment. (Pravda)
