"The claim that China and Russia are preventing Iran from entering into negotiations with the US has not yet been confirmed. He noted that no such statement has been made by Iran, and in fact, this is understandable, because such a statement would confirm its "proxy" state status".

These words were stated by political scientist Rufiz Hafizoğlu in a statement to Modern.az.

He noted that if approached from another perspective, it would appear that Iran is indeed acting as a "proxy" state:

"However, the fact that China and the US are pressuring Iran not to enter into negotiations does not seem convincing. Iranian President Masoud Pezişyan stated a few days before the war that they did not receive support from close allies during the 12-day Iran-Israel war. This indicates that Iran was expecting at least logistical support".

The political scientist added that in the future, China and Russia might need to intervene in Iranian processes, but in the current situation, such an intervention is not actually occurring:

"The most difficult situation has arisen in Iran since the establishment of Islamic rule. Iran no longer has strong allies in the Middle East; military groups like Hezbollah and Hamas have lost their power, and Syria has lost its role as a strategic supporter for Iran".

He stated that Iran's long-promoted idea of a “Shiite world” is now weakening, and proxy groups in the region are almost non-existent:

"Only Lebanon seemed to be a supporting force. It also recently announced that all IRGC members in the country will be arrested".

The political scientist added that Iran's launching of missiles at various states aims to create an illusion of victory against the backdrop of its defeat in the war.
