Britain restricts fuel sales

24 March 2026, 01:15

Against the backdrop of the conflict in the Middle East, restrictions have been imposed on the sale of fuel to agricultural machinery owners in Great Britain.

Modern.az reports that "The Daily Telegraph" disseminated information about this.

It was reported that wholesale suppliers in Essex county and some regions of Scotland have implemented rationing on the quantity of diesel fuel. Patrick Crehan, a spokesperson for “Anglia Farmers”, stated that "Wholesale suppliers have had to reduce order volumes to meet as many requests as possible. For example, instead of 10 tons to one farmer, they are delivering 2 tons to various farmers".

On Monday, Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated in the House of Commons that despite the fighting in the Middle East, there is no “serious concern” regarding energy supply in the country. He emphasized that the government considers the possibility of “the conflict being prolonged for some time” when preparing its plans.
