The remarks by US President Donald Trump, who claimed that a regime change had occurred in Iran, were met with ridicule in the Islamic Republic.
US President Donald Trump stated in his address to his compatriots from the White House last night:
“In the next two to three weeks, we will deliver extremely harsh blows to Iran. We will send them back to the Stone Age. Regime change in Iran was not our goal. We never talked about regime change, but regime change occurred due to the death of all its leaders. This country has been virtually destroyed and no longer poses a threat".
Modern.az reports that Iran's semi-official “Tasnim” News Agency ridiculed Donald Trump's remarks.
“Talking about a change in Iran's political system would make even a cooked chicken laugh. According to some international journalists, only a fool like Trump could call the replacement of one Khamenei (the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei) by another Khamenei (Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei) a system change”, “Tasnim” wrote.
