Every person's life is a story. Some live this story quickly, while others fit wisdom, patience, and love into every page of the years. There are some who live close to 100 years, and some even longer, becoming witnesses of time and carriers of history. They – long-lived people – are examples not only with their age but also with the experience they have gathered, the changes they have witnessed, and their art of living.

The Modern.az website is launching the “Masters of Life” section. In this section, we will introduce readers to the longest-lived resident of each district – people who understand the value of life and have befriended time. Their life journey, joys, difficulties, family values, motivation to live, and unique life philosophies will also inspire you.

Because life is not just the number of years. Life – is the traces you live, make others live, and leave in memories.

Come, let's follow these traces together.

We begin the first presentation of our section from the Lerik district, which has gained a reputation as the land of centenarians.

According to the information from the State Statistical Committee as of January 1st this year, Lerik district has 133 residents over the age of 90.

Currently, the longest-lived resident of Lerik is Shahbaji Gulverdi qizi Ibrahimova.

Information on this matter was provided to our website by the Lerik District Executive Power.

The district's longest-lived resident, grandmother Shahbaji, is 95 years old.

Shahbaji Ibrahimova was born in 1930 in Lerik settlement of Lerik district. Grandmother Shahbaji is a heroic mother. She gave birth to 13 children: 5 sons, 8 daughters.

Unfortunately, one of her sons and one of her daughters have passed away; currently, 11 of her children are alive.

Shahbaji Gulverdi qizi has 58 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Grandmother Shahbaji currently lives in Lerik city.

The secret to her longevity is the clean mountain air and natural environment – the Lerik region is famous for its clean air and natural water sources, which greatly help in preserving health.

Simple and natural nutrition also played an important role in grandmother's reaching 95 years of age. Because fresh fruits and vegetables gathered from nature, homemade products, and natural foods are one of the main pillars of longevity.

Genetic factors have also played their part. The longevity of family members also indicates the role of genetic heritage.

Low stress, mutual support among people, and strong family ties have also supported grandmother Shahbaji's psychologically healthy lifestyle.

We wish her a long life and good health!
