"We could not teach Najmaddin Sadikov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, to speak Azerbaijani. I knew about Najmaddin Sadikov's ties to Russia as early as 1993".
Modern.az reports that these words were uttered by Vahid Ahmadov, former Member of Parliament, on “Media Türk TV”.
V. Ahmadov noted that when they were going to Fuzuli on the instructions of the late President Heydar Aliyev, their car was not allowed into that region - N. Sadikov's men prevented this and stated that there were Armenians in Fuzuli:
“I told them that I had other information - there are no Armenians in Fuzuli. I asked who told them this, and they replied Najmaddin Sadikov. They called him, and he came. He reported to me that there were Armenians there.”
Vahid Ahmadov noted that despite the claims, he went to Fuzuli and saw soldiers leaving Fuzuli along the way:
“General Zaur Rzayev was also with me. I had the car stopped and asked, 'Why are you returning?' They stated that they had been told there were Armenians in Fuzuli.”
“After going to Fuzuli, we saw that there were neither Armenians nor Azerbaijanis there. I went and sat in the executive head's office, drank water. I inquired and found that no one was there - those territories had been completely evacuated. Then we went to Jabrayil. A post had also been established there, and Najmaddin's men were at that post. Again, they told us that there were Armenians in Jabrayil. But we went to the Executive Authority, and I said, 'You see, there isn't a single Armenian here.' From that time on, I understood that the evacuation of the villages was Russia's doing,” the former deputy stated.
