The period of active military service in peacetime for officers called up for fixed-term active military service from the reserve or voluntarily entering active military service on a contract basis has been reduced by 6 months.
Modern.az reports that this is reflected in the amendments made to the laws "On Approval of the Regulations 'On Military Service'" and "On Military Duty and Military Service," approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the document, for those called up for fixed-term active military service from the reserve or voluntarily entering active military service on a contract basis, this period will be 1 year (after this period expires, they are transferred to the cadre officer staff with the consent of the parties); for foreigners and stateless persons voluntarily entering active military service on a contract basis, this period will be up to 3 years (after this period expires, a new contract is concluded with the consent of the parties).
