A statement has been issued by the Azerbaijan Writers' Union regarding the procedure for making membership payments.
Xəyal Rza, Press Secretary of the Writers' Union, stated in his statement to Modern.az that for the payment of membership fees to the organization, each member must go to the Writers' Union - to the accounting department:
"The Writers' Union has branches in some parts of Baku. However, membership fee payments are only processed at the main building. No online payment method is available for payment".
It was stated by the organization that only writers living in remote regions are granted concessions. They can make bank transfers:
"The implementation of an online payment system is not foreseen".
It was stated by the Union that the process of expelling those who do not pay membership fees will continue:
"When the next stage will occur depends on the decision of the secretariat. The Writers' Union will hold its congress in 2027. Until then, in any case, those who have not paid will be expelled. Because we must determine the list and know the exact number before the congress".
