The population of the Republic of Turkey increased by 427,224 people in 2025, reaching 86 million 92 thousand 168 people.

Modern.az reports that this was stated in the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

In 2024, the country's population was 85 million 664 thousand 944 people.

In 2025, the population increased by 427 thousand 224 people, rising to 86 million 92 thousand 168 people.

In terms of population, males accounted for 50.02 percent (43 million 59 thousand 434 people), and females for 49.98 percent (43 million 32 thousand 734 people).

The annual population growth rate increased from 3.4 per thousand people in 2024 to 5 per thousand people in 2025.

The percentage of people living in city and district centers increased from 93.4% in 2024 to 93.6% in 2025.

The percentage of people living in towns and villages decreased from 6.6% to 6.4%.

The number of foreign residents in Turkey increased by 38,968 people compared to the previous year, reaching 1,519,515 people. Of this population, 49.3% were males and 50.7% were females.
