A UAE delegation, led by Mohammed Ali Al-Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport of the capital Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is on a visit to Baku.
According to information provided to Modern.az by the Press Service of the Baku City Executive Power, today the delegation met with Eldar Azizov, Head of the Baku City Executive Power.
During the meeting, Eldar Azizov noted that the high level of friendly and cooperative relations between our countries today is the result of the activities of the leaders of both states. He stated that the presentation of the “Zayed Award for Human Fraternity” to President Ilham Aliyev during his business visit to the UAE on February 4 was a high appreciation for the successful policy of the head of state. All this, in turn, creates a basis for establishing successful cooperation between the capital cities of Baku and Abu Dhabi.
Providing information about Baku, Eldar Azizov stated that as a result of Mr. Ilham Aliyev's policy, today the city of Baku has risen to a qualitatively new level, and this process continues successfully.
Touching upon the long-standing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE, Mohammed Ali Al-Shorafa noted that special importance is attached to relations with Azerbaijan in his country. “This is my first visit to your city, and considering what I have seen, I am sure it will not be the last.” The guest, particularly noting the rapid development of Baku and the effectiveness of its urban management, expressed hope that the two capital cities would learn much from each other.
Subsequently, a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of twinning relations between the cities of Baku and Abu Dhabi was signed. Eldar Azizov presented the guest with the Arabic edition of the book “History of the Patriotic War. The Personality Factor”, dedicated to our glorious victory and already published in 11 languages.
