Assets belonging to Ilgar Hajiyev, former owner of "Akkord İnşaat Sənaye" OJSC, who is accused of legalizing property obtained through criminal means, have been seized.
According to information obtained by Modern.az, the submission made by the investigative p in this regard has been satisfied. A decision has been made to seize the assets identified during the investigation concerning him.
It should be noted that in the proceedings held today at the Baku Court for Grave Crimes, Ilgar Hajiyev was sentenced in absentia. According to the verdict, he was deprived of liberty for a period of 15 years.
It should be noted that in November of last year, an official notification was sent to Ilgar Hajiyev regarding his invitation to the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office, in accordance with the requirements of Article 467-13.4 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It was stated that a decision was made to involve him as an accused person under Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was in force until 2017. Since he fled the investigation and hid outside the borders of Azerbaijan, a search was declared for him in connection with the announcement of charges. By the decision of the Narimanov District Court dated January 13, 2021, a preventive measure of arrest in absentia was chosen against him.
Subsequently, additions and amendments were made to the content of the charges, and a decision was made to involve Ilgar Hajiyev as an accused person under Articles 178.3.2 and 193-1.3.2 of the Criminal Code, which were in force until December 1, 2017.
It was noted that from 2016 to 2017, while serving as the head of "SDI Group" LLC, he used his official position to obtain 10 million US dollars, i.e., 16 million 270 thousand manats, in Moscow, Russian Federation, and in front of Heydar Aliyev International Airport located in the Khazar district of Baku city, thereby fraudulently seizing and legalizing a large amount of property belonging to the victim.
