President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, on March 6.
Modern.az reports that Mihai Popșoi, expressing gratitude to our head of state for the reception, conveyed the greetings of Moldovan President Maia Sandu to President Ilham Aliyev.
Our head of state expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked for his greetings to be conveyed to Maia Sandu. President Ilham Aliyev recalled with satisfaction his meetings and discussions with the head of state of Moldova within the framework of international organizations.
Mihai Popșoi stated that Moldova strongly condemned the attacks perpetrated by Iran against Azerbaijan with unmanned aerial vehicles, and emphasized their solidarity with our country on this issue. He wished a speedy recovery to those injured during the attack.
The guest, noting with satisfaction the existence of friendly relations between our peoples, said that they always remember and highly appreciate Azerbaijan's support during Moldova's difficult days.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the position demonstrated.
During the conversation, it was noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan and Moldova consistently support each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty; the development of bilateral relations, including the deepening of cooperation in political, economic-trade, energy, and other fields, was emphasized; and the role of mutual visits at various levels in expanding our ties was touched upon. In this regard, confidence was expressed that Mihai Popșoi's visit would be successful.
During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on cooperation within international organizations, the intensification of political dialogue, and other issues of mutual interest.
