Iran's terror plans in Azerbaijan have been exposed.
Modern.az reports that as a result of complex counter-intelligence measures, the State Security Service prevented terrorist-sabotage acts planned to be carried out in Azerbaijan by SEPAH, a special service p of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Baku-Ceyhan oil pipeline, a strategic object, the Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan, one of the leaders of the Mountain Jews Religious Community, and the Ashkenazi Synagogue were targeted with the aim of creating panic among the population and damaging our country's international reputation. Three explosive devices were brought into the country, but these explosives were neutralized and prevented from being transferred to a third party. Operational search measures were organized to identify strategic objects and targets of interest to Iranian Special Services in our country, as well as individuals cooperating with them.
It was revealed that Iranian citizens - Rustamzada Behnam Sahibali and Zandkian Yaser Rahim, acting in prior collusion, established criminal contact with Guliyev Tarkhan Tarlan oglu to smuggle an explosive device into the country. Upon the instruction of Iranian citizen Zandkian Yaser Rahim, one unknown container placed near the “Hamam Bath” health complex located at Salyan Highway 14, Shikhov settlement, Sabail district, was identified. During the inspection of the container, 7 kg 730 grams of "C-4" explosive material, intended for detonating objects 6 meters deep in the ground, i.e., pipes or other structures, as well as concrete installations, was discovered inside. During the operational footage of the State Security Service, it was determined that Tarkhan Guliyev, together with Agayev Nijat Zaman oglu, arrived by car, took the container from its placement, and in the following days, they hid the explosive device in Nasimi district, Baku city.
Subsequently, it was revealed that another container with an explosive device was brought into the country upon the instruction of Iranian citizen Azarundbileh Hosein Savar Saber, who has direct ties with SEPAH. Inside it were 2 remote-controlled "C-4" type explosive devices. Azerbaijani citizen Abdullayev Asad Tofig oglu, with whom a criminal connection had been established beforehand, came to the secret storage location and took the container. As information had been received in advance, the storage location was equipped with covert video surveillance by the State Security Service to document this incident. The next day, it was discovered that Rashad Rustamov and Asad Abdullayev together took the container from the known secret storage location in the Baglar massif, Shikhlar settlement, Gobustan district, and hid the package near A. Abdullayev's residence. It was established that the Iranian citizens who established criminal contact with Azerbaijani citizens were not only involved in drug trafficking but also acted as liaison agents for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
In addition to the above, the circle of individuals contacted by SEPAH, which organized the planning of terrorist-sabotage and assassination acts in the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been identified. Specifically, Iranian citizen Sheikhzadeh Sajjad Moghadam Sati Sofi Evad, who promised 50 000 US dollars to the person who would place an explosive device under the bridge in Sangachal settlement, Garadagh district, Baku city, was searching for such a person. At the same time, it was revealed that S. Sheikhzadeh received special instructions from SEPAH in preparing assassination plans against individuals of Jewish origin residing in Azerbaijan.
The location of the previous 3 explosive devices by SEPAH could not be determined because the individuals they trusted severed their ties with the initiators. Therefore, at the initiative of Iranian citizen Hafez Tavassoli, the transfer of the next explosive device was ensured. Thus, one explosive device weighing 1280 grams was identified near the Shipyard located in Garadagh district of the capital. The destructive force of this explosive has a range of 250-300 meters. Hafez Tavassoli, identified as a liaison agent for SEPAH, contacted Agayeva Khadija Zakir gyzy and asked her to keep the box for two days. The Azerbaijani citizen who received the package from the given coordinates placed the box in a secret location in Masazir settlement in the following days.
After Khadija Agayeva observed two individuals approaching on a motorcycle and taking the package, she informed H. Tavassoli about it. After Agayeva placed the explosive material in a pre-arranged location in Masazir settlement, upon the instruction of Sajjad Sheikhzadeh Moghaddam Sati Sofli Evad, Ahmadov Elvin Bahruz oglu took the explosive device and hid it around the courtyard house where he lived in Bilajari settlement.
At the same time, Iranian citizen Hafez Tavassoli contacted Azerbaijani citizen Shabanova Narmina Ramiz gyzy with the aim of assassinating a public figure, and instructions were given to go to the address where the public figure worked, and to take photographs of that place, as well as of the said person. In addition, Shabanova received instructions from SEPAH regarding the reception and accommodation in a hotel of a foreign citizen sent from a third country to Azerbaijan for the purpose of killing the public figure, and finding weapons and a vehicle to commit the crime. It was at this point that Ismiyev Naib Agaismi oglu informed Narmina Shabanova that he could kill the public figure for 80 000 manats. In this regard, N. Ismiyev went to the public figure's workplace, made video recordings of the location with his mobile phone to plan the execution of the crime and escape and hide from the scene after committing it, and sent them to Narmina Shabanova, a member of the criminal group. At the same time, they carried out preparations for the assassination of the public figure by agreeing to search for and acquire firearms, as well as other tools and means, for the purpose of committing the crime.
As a result of the preventive urgent operational-search measures carried out by the State Security Service, the aforementioned particularly serious crimes were prevented. Specifically, Guliyev Tarkhan Tarlan oglu, Agayev Nijat Zaman oglu, Abdullayev Asad Tofig oglu, Rustamov Rashad Farhad oglu, Agayeva Khadija Zakir gyzy, Ahmadov Elvin Bahruz oglu, Shabanova Narmina Ramiz gyzy, and Ismiyev Naib Agaismi oglu confessed to their actions, as well as to taking the explosive device upon the instructions of individuals connected with SEPAH and executing tasks related to assassination plans.
During the mentioned period, it was discovered that the person who organized direct terrorist acts against our country was Ali Asghar Bordbar Sherami, an officer of SEPAH's Intelligence Organization with the military rank of colonel.
International search warrants have been issued for Iranian citizens - Zandkian Yaser Rahim, Rustamzada Behnam Sahibali, Azarundbileh Hosein Savar Saber, Sheikhzadeh Sajjad Moghadam Sati Sofi Evad - whose participation in organizing terrorist-sabotage acts with the aim of disrupting stability and creating panic among the population in the country has been established.
During the operational-investigative measures carried out, decisions were also made regarding Azerbaijani citizens whose participation in criminal acts was revealed. Specifically, Guliyev Tarkhan Tarlan oglu, Agayev Nijat Zaman oglu, Abdullayev Asad Tofig oglu, and Rustamov Rashad Farhad oglu were found guilty under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and sentenced to 6 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
Shabanova Narmina Ramiz gyzy and Ismiyev Naib Agaismi oglu were brought to criminal responsibility under Articles 28, 277 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (preparation for assassination of a state or public figure), and Ahmadov Elvin Bahruz oglu under Article 228.2.1 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition, transfer, storage, transportation, and carrying of weapons, their component parts, ammunition, explosives, and explosive devices by a group of persons in prior collusion), and a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen by the court against them. The materials collected by the Main Investigation Department of the State Security Service have been sent to the court.
Complex investigative-operational measures are continuing to identify the circle of individuals who organize the planning of terrorist-sabotage and assassination acts in the Republic of Azerbaijan by foreign special services, as well as those cooperating with them.
