The next meeting of the Coordination Headquarters, chaired by Samir Nuriyev, Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Coordination Headquarters for the centralized resolution of issues in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held in Khojavand city.

Modern.az reports that Samir Nuriyev, speaking at the meeting, stated that the Great Return process to the liberated territories is one of the main directions of the state policy implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the country's long-term development strategy. He said that this process encompasses a comprehensive approach that envisages not only the physical restoration of the territories but also the reconstruction of life in those lands, the assurance of sustainable socio-economic development, and the dignified return of former internally displaced persons to their native lands.

According to the Head of the Headquarters, the main priority in the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories in recent years has been the creation of basic infrastructure. The reconstruction of electricity, gas, and water supply infrastructure, and the construction of roads, bridges, and tunnels have created the initial necessary conditions for the restoration of life in the region. At the current stage, a significant portion of the resources allocated by the state is directed towards expanding the housing stock, and the construction and restoration of individual and multi-apartment buildings. Concurrently, the organization of activities for social facilities such as schools, kindergartens, medical points, and public service centers is being carried out in parallel. It was noted that this approach allows former internally displaced persons returning to their native lands to rapidly adapt to normal living conditions from day one.

The Head of the Headquarters emphasized that a total of 41 settlements have been built and restored and put into operation in the liberated territories to date, and the return of former internally displaced persons to these areas has been ensured. He brought to the attention of the meeting participants that, as a result of the work carried out, currently more than 80,000 people, including those working in the state and private sectors, as well as those receiving education, live and operate in the liberated territories. It was noted that in the upcoming period, as a result of the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works, the resettlement process will further accelerate, and the scope of the Great Return Program will expand.

It was stated that the implementation of projects in the liberated territories is carried out within the framework of the I State Program on the Great Return. The measures envisaged in the Program are being implemented consistently, which allows for the phased achievement of the set goals and the successful continuation of the restoration and reconstruction process.

S. Nuriyev emphasized that the sustainability of resettlement is directly linked to the creation of employment opportunities. In this regard, the creation of new jobs, the expansion of activity opportunities in agriculture, the service sector, production, construction, and logistics, as well as the promotion of entrepreneurship, the attraction of investors, and the application of support mechanisms are of great importance.

The Head of the Headquarters noted that the restoration of historical, cultural, and religious monuments is one of the important directions of the Great Return process, stating that this holds special significance for the preservation of national-cultural heritage and its transmission to future generations.

Subsequently, in accordance with the meeting's agenda, information was presented regarding the activities of the Interdepartmental Center of the Coordination Headquarters, as well as the work carried out within the framework of the I State Program on the Great Return. Reports on the work conducted in the areas of resettlement, increasing economic activity, entrepreneurship development, and the restoration of cultural heritage were heard.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of timely implementation of necessary measures for the effective execution of strategic tasks defined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was emphasized. It was noted that concrete steps must be taken for each issue, and the given instructions must be executed promptly.
