They receive a pension in addition to their salary:
It should be noted that there is no direct special norm regarding the retirement age of executive heads, and since they hold the status of civil servants, the general retirement age requirements of the Law "On Labor Pensions" are applied. Currently, in Azerbaijan, the right to a labor pension by age is set at 65 for men, and is gradually increased for women.
According to the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, if a person who has acquired the right to an old-age labor pension continues to work, a labor pension is assigned to them, and its payment continues. That is, an executive head who has reached retirement age, while continuing to perform their duties, retains the right to receive both a salary and a labor pension. The legislation stipulates that the payment of a labor pension is suspended only when certain circumstances occur (e.g., death, marriage, non-compliance with pension conditions, etc.), and working is not among these circumstances. At the same time, the pensions of working pensioners are recalculated every 6 years, and additional insurance capital is taken into account
