"In Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula, precipitation is expected to continue throughout the day on March 28, and in some areas, it is expected to become intense."
This information was provided to Modern.az by Gülşad Məmmədova, Director of the Hydrometeorological Forecasts Bureau of the National Hydrometeorology Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
She stated that today, intense precipitation is observed in the capital Baku, on the Absheron Peninsula, and also in the regions.
G. Məmmədova added that precipitation is forecast to gradually cease starting from the daytime hours of the 29th:
"Due to heavy precipitation, instances of flooding in some areas of the Absheron Peninsula are not excluded. Currently, intense rainfall is also observed in the regions. In mountainous areas – in the directions of Qrız, Xınalıq, and Shahdag – it is snowing. Overall, rainy weather conditions will continue intermittently until the 31st, and in some places, precipitation will be intense. It is especially likely that precipitation will intensify further in the eastern regions. Precipitation is forecast to gradually cease starting from the daytime hours of the 31st," the director noted .
