In accordance with the instructions of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, measures aimed at strengthening the material and technical base of the Azerbaijan Army, improving the social and living conditions of units, as well as increasing the professionalism of personnel, are successfully continued.
According to information provided to Modern.az by the Press Service of the Ministry of Defense, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense participated in the opening of the administrative buildings of the Engineering and Fortification Center of the Engineer Troops, the Psychological Support Department, and the Baku Military Psychological Health Center, as well as the Legal Department. They also familiarized themselves with the work carried out at the Baku Military College operating under the National Defense University and the Emergency Medical Aid Department of the Main Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense.
In the newly commissioned Engineering and Fortification Center, simulator systems meeting modern standards have been installed for the training of junior specialists and for mine clearance of the area.
The delegation, familiarizing themselves with the conditions created on the territory of the Center, inspected the fire depot, guard room, vehicle park, engineering ammunition, military-technical property, missile-artillery weapons, ammunition and equipment warehouses, as well as training grounds used in the combat training process at the Engineer Troops' firing range.
Additionally, newly acquired engineering armament tools and modern mechanical mine clearance equipment were demonstrated to the leadership, aimed at strengthening the material and technical provision of the center, and detailed information was provided regarding their tactical and technical characteristics and application capabilities.
Within the framework of staff-structure reforms carried out to maintain a high level of psychological readiness of the Azerbaijan Army personnel, the newly established Psychological Support Department and the Baku Military Psychological Health Center's thoroughly renovated administrative buildings have been put into operation.
Here, based on the specific requirements of psychological service, special therapy rooms have been created to increase the psychological resilience of personnel and restore post-traumatic conditions, as well as workrooms for the training of military psychologists and the conduct of methodical documentation.
The center, which has initial experience in the region and where military and civilian psychologists will work together, will serve to protect and develop the psychological well-being of military personnel of the Azerbaijan Army and their family members.
The newly established center also envisages the provision of necessary services for individual and group psychotherapy, psychological diagnostics, consultation, post-stress and post-traumatic psychological rehabilitation, as well as supporting the psychological development of children and adolescents.
Subsequently, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense attended the opening of the newly commissioned administrative building of the Legal Department. Here, the leadership was informed that the Legal Department is an institution that regulates various military legal issues and operates in accordance with legislation in the field of defense.
The Department regulates the provision of legal advice to the personnel of the Azerbaijan Army, the fight against military crimes, as well as international legal issues. The main objective of the Legal Department's activity is to legally support the operations of troops and forces under the Ministry of Defense and to ensure compliance with existing laws.
