It is planned that the investigative bodies of three institutions in Azerbaijan will be merged.
Modern.az reports that the discussion concerns the investigative departments operating under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Tax Service, and the State Customs Committee.
It is expected that the investigative structures of institutions primarily implementing the budget's financial policy will be merged, and a unified investigative department will be established, similar to international practice. The new entity is intended to operate under the State Enterprise Monitoring Agency within the Ministry of Finance.
The main purpose of this merger is to eliminate parallelism and redundancies in investigative processes and to ensure more efficient use of resources. This innovation will also strengthen operational efficiency and coordination by applying a unified approach to the investigation of financial and economic crimes. The merged investigative p will also be supervised by the Prosecutor General's Office.
It is reported that preparatory work is currently underway for the joint structure to commence its activities.
For your information, the State Enterprise Monitoring Agency within the Ministry of Finance has also been newly established, and its head was appointed yesterday.
It should be noted that the investigative departments under the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service, and the State Border Service will continue their activities separately as before. (Qafqazinfo)
