9 people were detained by the State Border Service during March 2026 for violating the state border.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the information from the Press Center of the State Border Service.
It was reported that 3 of them were citizens of Azerbaijan, 3 of Pakistan, 2 of Iran, and 1 of Kazakhstan. As a result of measures to combat illegal migration, 6 people attempting to cross the state border with a falsified date stamp and passport, or with documents belonging to another person, were detained.
72 people were detained for violating border regime rules, and appropriate measures were taken against them;
as a result of measures to combat crime, 322 individuals wanted by law enforcement agencies were detained and handed over to the relevant authorities, the departure from the country of 582 individuals prohibited from leaving, and the entry into the country of 11 individuals prohibited from entering, were prevented;
as a result of measures to combat the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, 541 kilograms 132 grams of narcotic drugs and 17 narcotic pills were discovered and removed from circulation;
as a result of measures to combat smuggling activities, contraband with a total value of 7 million 573 thousand 290 manats, including Russian Federation currency, ammunition for firearms, medicines, and tobacco products, was discovered and seized.
