President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz on April 2.
Modern.az reports that Cevdet Yılmaz conveyed the greetings of President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the head of our state.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings, and asked him to convey his greetings to the head of the Turkish state.
Cevdet Yılmaz stated that Türkiye has always stood by Azerbaijan, emphasizing that this is one of the main principles of the Shusha Declaration.
President Ilham Aliyev, in turn, stated that our country has always stood by Türkiye.
During the meeting, it was noted with satisfaction that the fraternal and strategic alliance relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are successfully developing in all directions, and that mutual visits at various levels contribute to the further expansion of our relations.
During the conversation, the importance of holding a meeting of the heads of government/vice presidents of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States in Baku was touched upon, and it was emphasized that this event creates a good opportunity for discussing issues related to strengthening cooperation within the organization.
Cevdet Yılmaz also noted with satisfaction the participation of the Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in this meeting, and expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for this.
The guest, stating that the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States was held at a high level in Gabala last year and good results were achieved at that event, emphasized that Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States was successful.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on the prospects of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, the regional situation, and other issues of mutual interest.
