One of the houses that caused the collapse of the 1200 mm diameter wastewater collector, which is under the balance of the United Water Supply Service for Large Cities of the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan, has been demolished based on the decision of the commission.
This was reported to Modern.az by the Service.
It was noted that the accident that occurred in the collector passing through Rashid Bagirov Street, Khatai district, as a result of excessive loading, caused water to accumulate in the surrounding areas. Currently, intensive work is being carried out in those areas to remove the water.
ADSEA Chairman Zaur Mikayilov also regularly visits the area and personally supervises the ongoing work. The Agency Chairman inspected the situation on site and gave instructions for the incident to be eliminated more quickly, optimally, and safely. In addition, senior officials of relevant state institutions are also inspecting the area.
The house built over the collector has already been demolished. Employees of the ADSEA United Water Supply Service for Large Cities are carrying out the repair and restoration of the wastewater collector that collapsed due to overloading. Excavation work is being carried out to remove the soil layer from above the collector, which is 9 meters deep.
It was noted that some time ago, 100 meters of the 500-millimeter cast iron pipeline remaining under the houses at that address were replaced with polyethylene pipes and relocated. The old 100 and 150-millimeter steel pipes remaining under the house in an emergency condition were also removed and replaced with new polyethylene pipes with diameters of 110 and 160 millimeters.
Prior to the current incident, residents were warned about the increased likelihood of an accident, and instructed to vacate the area for the safe execution of repair, construction, and restoration work on the collector.
