President Ilham Aliyev has made changes in the "Regulations on the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources".
Modern.az reports that, in this regard, the head of state has signed a new decree.
According to the decree, the Ministry, through its subordinate bodies, both those included and not included in its structure, will be able to provide an opinion in cases stipulated in Article 57, Part 1 of the Land Code, as well as for the construction of defense and security-related facilities on forest fund lands, when there is a need to involve additional land areas in agricultural circulation for the purpose of ensuring food security, on the expediency of replacing these lands with less suitable or unsuitable agricultural lands, when a change in the category of land for the extraction of mineral resources is required, on the conformity of the confirmed reserves of mineral resources and their exploitation with the legislation on subsoil, as well as on the conformity of the change in land categories with the legislation in the field of environmental protection.
Furthermore, Ilham Aliyev has made changes in the "Charter of the State Ecological Expertise Agency". According to the change, the Agency will be able to provide an opinion when a change in the category of land for the extraction of mineral resources is required, on the conformity of the confirmed reserves of mineral resources and their exploitation with the legislation on subsoil, as well as on the conformity of the change in land categories with the legislation in the field of environmental protection.
