A telephone conversation was held between Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the telephone conversation, the parties exchanged views on the current security situation in the region and the achieved ceasefire.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov welcomed the announced ceasefire. The importance of ensuring the ceasefire in terms of reducing tension, successfully concluding negotiations, and establishing stability was emphasized.
In achieving the ceasefire, the role of mediating countries, especially that of friendly and brotherly Pakistan, was appreciated.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the importance of adhering to the ceasefire regime, drew attention to the importance of resolving the situation through diplomatic means, and expressed hope that the negotiations to be held in Islamabad would be results-oriented and productive.
It was emphasized by Minister Jeyhun Bayramov that Azerbaijan is always ready to support initiatives aimed at strengthening lasting peace, security, and cooperation in the region.
The ministers also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
