Out of 5 road traffic accidents resulting in injuries just yesterday, 3 involved motorcycle riders.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in an appeal by the Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to motorcycle and moped riders.
According to the information, each of these incidents recorded in the territories of Yasamal, Khatai, and Absheron districts resulted in a collision. It was noted that in the first 3 months of the current year, 3 people lost their lives and 2 people were injured in 5 road traffic accidents caused by the fault of motorcycle and moped riders across the republic.
The appeal states that road traffic accidents involving motorcycle and moped riders once again demonstrate the importance of strict adherence to traffic rules when operating vehicles of this category: "The constructive features of these vehicles are also among the main factors increasing the risk level. Thus, due to the absence of a protective frame surrounding the driver and passive safety elements (seat belt, airbag, etc.) during an impact, the effects of collisions directly impact the driver, leading to more severe injuries".
The Main State Traffic Police Department brings to the attention of motorcycle and moped riders that for their own safety and the safety of other road users, traffic rules must be strictly observed, speed appropriate to road and weather conditions must be correctly chosen, safety rules must be followed during maneuvers, and the use of protective equipment must be ensured: "Violation of these requirements leads to serious road traffic accidents, and sometimes to tragedies resulting in loss of human life. The Main State Traffic Police Department once again calls on drivers to act responsibly and comply with safety rules".
