President Ilham Aliyev addressed a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijan's Orthodox Christian community.
Modern.az reports that the congratulation states:
"Dear compatriots!
I sincerely congratulate you – the entire Christian community of Azerbaijan – on the occasion of the holy Easter holiday, and extend my wishes for happiness and tranquility to all of you.
The environment of tolerance that has prevailed in Azerbaijan for centuries has played an exceptional role in establishing exemplary and harmonious social relations among the representatives of various peoples, faiths, and beliefs settled here. We value the historically formed ethno-cultural diversity, national-spiritual values, and multicultural traditions in our society as a unique asset of our modern statehood.
Currently, the assurance of democratic-legal principles in our country, regardless of language, religion, or ethnic origin, provides extensive opportunities for everyone, including the Christian community, to preserve their unique customs, traditions, language, and culture. I would like to note with satisfaction that our Christian compatriots actively participate in our socio-political and socio-cultural life, and make worthy contributions to the comprehensive development of our independent state.
