When admitted to extended active military service, the initial contract period concluded with women will be reduced from 3 years to 6 months.
Modern.az reports that this is reflected in the amendment made to the laws “On the Approval of the Regulations on Military Service” and “On Military Duty and Military Service”, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
Until now, according to Article 38.1.2 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Military Duty and Military Service”, the initial contract period for military personnel in extended active military service was set at 3 years for those entering from fixed-term active military service, from the reserve, and for women. The same provision is also stipulated in paragraph “b” of Article 12 of the “Regulations on Military Service”.
However, according to the law, the initial contract period concluded with women has been reduced from 3 years to 6 months.
