The investigation of the criminal case initiated at the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General, based on materials received from the Ministry of Justice regarding the illegal actions of Nasir Nasirli, Chairman of Fatmayi Municipality, Absheron district, has been completed.
Information on this matter was provided to Modern.az by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
It was reported that during the preliminary investigation, reasonable suspicions were established that Nasir Nasirli, while holding the aforementioned position between 2020 and 2024, was obliged to sell a total of 13 hectares of land owned by the municipality, subject to mandatory appraisal in accordance with the requirements of current legislative acts and at a price not less than the average market price. However, by abusing his official powers and knowingly inserting false information into official documents, he sold the land below its value, contrary to these requirements, thereby causing significant damage to the municipality.
Based on the collected evidence, Nasir Nasirli was charged under Articles 308.2 (abuse of official powers leading to serious consequences) and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and pre-trial detention measures, namely placing him under police supervision and removal from office, were chosen against him.
The criminal case was sent for consideration to the relevant Absheron District Court.
