On April 10, a commemoration ceremony was held in Baku on the occasion of the 40th day since the demise of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Modern.az reports that the ceremony was attended by Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, representatives of government and the public, and religious figures.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the “Holy Quran”.
Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office and Sheikh-ul-Islam, delivered a speech, sharing his memories of Seyyed Ali Khamenei and speaking about his rich spiritual legacy and his role in the Islamic world. The Sheikh-ul-Islam also expressed his wish for the cessation of conflicts and disasters occurring worldwide, and conveyed his aspirations for peace, tranquility, and prosperity for humanity.
In his speech, Mojtaba Damirchilou, Iran's Ambassador to our country, spoke about Seyyed Ali Khamenei's life path, his activities in state and religious spheres, and his contributions to the Islamic world. He particularly emphasized Azerbaijan's solidarity, humanitarian, and moral support shown since the first days of the tension, expressing gratitude to our country for this.
Subsequently, religious figures delivered speeches, discussing religious values and spiritual heritage. The memory of the deceased was respectfully honored, and his religious and social activities were highly praised.
It should be noted that a commemoration ceremony was also held today in Nakhchivan on the occasion of the 40th day since the demise of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
It should be recalled that Iran's Supreme Religious Leader Ali Khamenei passed away on February 28. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of condolence to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian regarding his passing, and also visited the Iranian embassy in Baku to write his heartfelt words in the book of condolences.(Azertac)
