The international search and rescue exercise “Anatolian Phoenix - 2026” (“Anadolu Ankası - 2026”) held in Konya, the brotherly Republic of Turkey, continues successfully.
The Ministry of Defense informed Modern.az about this.
In the briefings held in accordance with the training plan, participants were given detailed information about safety rules, the stages of the tasks to be performed, as well as the relief and climatic features of the area where the operations will be carried out.
According to the task, a complex operation was carried out by parachute-descent and search-and-rescue units to detect and rescue a conditionally crashed pilot. Specialists of the parachute-descent and search-and-rescue service, who were brought to the area by helicopter, landed using the “fast rope” method, neutralized the conditional terrorist group that had taken up positions in the building, and captured the group leader.
In the next stage of the operation, full control over the area was ensured, and the pilot was safely evacuated. After the successful completion of the task, the personnel left the area by helicopter.
At the same time, aviation assets involved in the operation provided air protection and fire support to the groups, helping to effectively carry out the tasks.
During the activities carried out, the high professionalism of the personnel, as well as the high level of interaction and coordination between the units, was demonstrated.
It should be noted that the international training will continue until April 17.
