Nigar Gahramanova, one of the 25 people who lost both their parents in Khojaly, passed away at the age of 39.

Her relatives informed Modern.az about this.

It was reported that Nigar Gahramanova had been suffering from an oncological disease for 2 years. 6 months ago, she underwent surgery for treatment, but due to the severity of her illness, it was not possible to save her life.

It should be noted that Nigar Gahramanova's legs were amputated at the age of 4 in the Khojaly forests due to frostbite:

“Nigar's father, Tavakkul, being armed, resisted to protect the population and his family when he knew they would be captured. During the shootout, Tavakkul, wounded in his leg and shoulder, leaned against trees and walked with the civilian population to the plowed cultivated area in the Asgaran territory. Armenian armed forces, discovering the location of the peaceful residents there, opened fire and wounded four-year-old Nigar, who was on her father's shoulder. When the child's mother, Raya, took the wounded girl Nigar in her arms, the Armenians shot the woman in the head, killing her” – her family stated in their memoirs.

Nigar Gahramanova lived with her sister Khazangul for a long time. She got married only 7 years ago.

Nigar's mother, Raya, died at the age of 33, and her father at the age of 37, as victims of the Khojaly tragedy. Nigar herself passed away at 39.

Due to health problems, Nigar Gahramanova was unable to visit her ancestral homeland after Khojaly was liberated from occupation.
