In the recent events concerning the non-payment of membership fees in the Azerbaijan Writers' Union (AWU), the names of Milli Majlis deputies are also mentioned. The AWU recently published a list of some of those who have not paid their annual membership fees in “Ədəbiyyat qəzeti” (Literature Newspaper), warning them.
It is reported that approximately 30 individuals have been removed from this organization for not paying the 15 manat membership fee.
According to Modern.az, there are currently 13 deputies among the members of the AWU.
These include Vice-Speaker Rafael Huseynov, as well as Musa Gasimli (Urud), Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy; Arzu Naghiyev, Chairman of the Committee on Defense, Security, and Anti-Corruption; Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the Committee on International Relations; and deputies Elnara Akimova, Alibala Maharramzade, Aziz Alakbarli, Sayyad Salahli (Aran), Javanshir Feyziyev, Agil Abbas, Tahir Rzayev, Elchin Mirzabeyli, and Jala Aliyeva, who are members of the AWU.
Xayal Rza, press secretary of the AWU, stated that no deputy has been removed from the Union yet due to non-payment of membership fees.
“It is possible that the number of deputies who are members of the AWU may change after the next parliamentary elections. However, I want to reiterate that no deputy has been expelled from the Union for not paying their membership fees”.
It should be noted that some time ago, our website received information from the AWU regarding the non-payment of membership fees by certain deputies.
